Our Story
A two-person studio with a nine-year habit.
No investors, no design school, no shortcuts. Just a room, a roll of brass wire, and the discipline of finishing every piece like it's the only one.
How it began
It started with a wedding, and one honest question
The idea for Sundari wasn't a business plan. It was a wedding — a cousin's, in 2017 — where every woman arrived wearing jewellery that either fell apart in the photos if you looked closely, or cost more than it should have for the trouble.
So we started finishing pieces ourselves. Brass from the same market as everyone else, but set by hand, plated honestly, and priced the way we'd want to be priced. The first batches were double digits. They still are.
Nine years later the studio has grown by a room. The kitchen table is gone. The habit isn't.
"We don't make a piece we wouldn't wear to a wedding ourselves. That's the entire quality department."
The Way We Make
Three habits, kept for nine years
01
Set by hand, never stamped
Kundan is pressed into lac stone by stone, edges are filed, stones are burnished until the setting disappears. A machine can't hurry a craft that refuses to be hurried.
02
Plated honestly
Anti-tarnish plating, labelled for exactly what it is — no "24k gold finish" fiction. And if the finish lets you down within a year, we replace the piece. In writing, always.
03
Finished front and back
The back of a chandbali gets the same attention as the face — because someone will see it from behind at the mandap, and because that's simply the standard.
0
Pieces sent home
Each one checked by the same two hands before it ships. No warehouses, no pickers with clipboards.
0
Cities across India
From metros to the towns in between, usually within 4–6 days — most of that time is the courier's, not ours.
0
Of small batches
One year of it on a kitchen table. The kitchen table doesn't miss us; we miss the kitchen table.
The philosophy
Restraint is the rarest finish. We'd rather you notice the woman wearing the jewellery than the jewellery itself.
Say hello properly

Questions, outfit photos, or just testing whether the two-person studio is really two people — all welcome.
